In fact, the 230 HD models with 2635, 2835 and 3055 kg are the heaviest in their class and thanks to their extremely robust construction - e.g. high-frequency hardened prismatic guides - ideally suited for heavy-duty and continuous operation.
The 230 HD offers an extra large spindle bore of 80 mm for machining bar stock up to 2 1/2 inch diameter (76.1 mm). A turning size via slides of Ø 290 x 1000, 1500 or 2000 mm and a maximum turning diameter of 460 or 700 mm leave nothing to be desired for machine, steel, plant and tool construction - as well as 12 speeds for 170 longitudinal and cross feeds and 150 lead screw pitches for metric and inch threads.
